Fun-tastic Phonics

Hey all!

I'm back to talk about PHONICS!!!  More specifically, I want to talk about the new series I am making this year called Fun-tastic Phonics.  I started with short a but they all follow the same format and include all of the same games-just the words are changed out.  The reason behind this is so that precious instructional time is not wasted by the constant need to give the instructions.  Once the games have been taught, you can just place each game in a center and students know EXACTLY what to do.  Included in this series are small groups lessons, must do centers and can do activities.  

What are “small group” activities:

They are activities that can be used in a small group setting by either a teacher or parent volunteer.  They include:

Teacher Blending Cards

Slap-It

Say It-Spell It

Sound It Out Match Up

What are “must do” activities:

“Must do” activities are assignments that must be done by the end of the center.  Students will complete a task and follow it up with a  recording sheet of some kind to teachers can monitor the work being complete by the student.

Pocket Chart-Graph It

Trace/Stamp/Sort/Glue

Sentence Match UP

Pocket Chart-Spell It

Clip-Its

Read and Write the Room

Read/Match/Color

What are “can do” activities:

“Can do” activities are  open-ended, engaging, hands-on games.  Students follow a “must do” activity with a “can do”.   These are great for  a fast finisher or for after a short “must do” activity.
